Work less, work all. We are the 99% on Fiverr.com is the project I made for my solo show at Link Cabinet. It mixes body art, a performative approach and a fairly blunt political and conceptual statement.
For the show I opened a gig on Fiverr, the platform where people sell their professional services for a few dollars, offering my own artworks for sale. I built those artworks by buying and reselling other people's gigs: I asked each Fiverr worker to use their body to show, sing, dance or recite a message I had chosen.
So it is a commissioned body art performance, where my procedure meets the actions the workers perform with their own bodies. On one side I exploit their bodies and their creativity to make my work. On the other I make them carry the language and the slogans of the labour movements, pushing the hard, peculiar working conditions of the digital era right to the front.
