"Pics or it didn't happen", rule number 32 of the rules of the Internet, is what people type when they want photographic proof from whoever they are arguing with on a forum or a social network.
It is also an exhibition I made in 2014 for HOC / gallery, about how a Google Images search becomes a list of images, how I turn those images into real objects, and how I turn them back again into pictures of the internet.
The whole project follows the constant traffic between the URL realm (Uniform Resource Locator) and the IRL realm (In Real Life): from the internet to the world and back, using every channel the digital puts at hand, from a home printer to print-on-demand services to any photo or video device.
Everything ends up online at pics.oritdidnthappen.com: a collection of all sorts of images, photos, print-on-demand objects, ecommerce receipts, gathered, modified, printed and then documented once more.
