Carla Gannis and curator Tina Sauerländer invited me, together with sixty other artists, to make an animated GIF Selfie-Self Portrait for her solo show A Subject Self-Defined at TRANSFER Gallery in New York. The theme was contemporary selfie culture and self-display.
My answer: a set of self portraits taken in a public toilet, buried under a thick layer of Instagram filters, all merged into a single animated GIF. The most banal place, the most banal gesture, looped forever.
